The NaNoWriMo site reopening is just around the corner! So exciting! We'll be throwing back the curtain on Monday evening, Pacific time. We launch in the evening so Russ can be home from his other full-time job when the excitement begins and our servers fall over.

Hooray for everyone who donated during our NaNoWriMo 2007 Founding Donor drive! We received donations from over 100 people, and raised over $10,000. We can't thank you enough for helping get the ninth-annual NaNoWriMo off the ground. Just two more weeks until sign-ups begin! Whoop! Whoop!

That incessant hammering you've been hearing around the NaNoWriMo site is the sound of Russ, Tavia, me, Erin, Cybele, and our team of contractors and mighty interns getting NaNoWriMo ready for the start of sign-ups on October 1. To help pay for all the programming and design work, we're holding a raucous week-long Founding Donor drive over in the Donation Station through September 16.

Though much of our website is already translated into these four languages, many updates need to be made to the translated content before November. If you are interested in helping us make sure that our current site translations are up to date, and in helping translate any new site content, please email our Translation Coordinator, Sonali.

Grant Writer Needed

The Office of Letters and Light is looking for a talented grant writer living in the Bay Area to help us seek out and apply for grants. We've just received our first grant from the San Francisco Foundation that will help us expand our Young Writers Program curriculum, which is really exciting! And just a couple weeks ago, we sent out a goliath grant application to the National Endowment for the Arts.

Whew! Script Frenzy is over, and it kicked our butts in the best possible way. We had over 1,000 winners, and I'm now the proud owner of a totally feasible, somewhat coherent feature-length film script. Crazy!
